MOUNT ABU: A unique destination for Adventure and eco tourism
The Raj period approached it as a relaxation place to rewind along with
the royalties and semi royalties. The place sways in an interesting contrast
of British style bungalows, the holiday lodges of the royals (Thikhana)
along with the presence of the various communities of the tribals located
amidst the thick lush of the forest on the hills surrounding the region.
The flora and fauna enjoys the adulation of the tourist to the fullest.
Among the flourishing ranges is the highest point of the Aravalli is the
'Gurushikhar' with a vast sanctuary that shelters a number of species like
langur, wild boars, Sambar, leopards and many more along with a number of
flowering trees thus enhancing the whole scenario. This glorious ambience
suited mainly to the likes of sages and tribals and both made a great impact
in the history of the region.
The tribes still conducting there authentic life styles in the wake of 21st
century is rather interesting and so is the collection of various monuments
of different religious sects like the famous shrines of Jainism.
The Dilwara temple is famous for architectural genius. The intricate
carving on the marble stone is simply mesmerizing leaving the senses spell
bound with its neat structuring. A cluster of Hindu temples also marks
the land with their historical past.
The Brahmkumari Ashram is another world famous religious community center.
Mount Abu Climate

Mount Abu has fairly temperate climate
Summer temperatures can go as high as 33°/34°C. Minimum summer
temperatures remain at a pleasant 23°C. Winters in Mount Abu are balmy
at a cool 28°C with minimum temperatures of 11°C.
Rain It rains fairly heavily in the monsoon (65-177cm) so the very best
times to visit are between February and June or any time after the rains
between September and December.
Clothing Lightweight clothes will do very well for the summer months
in Mount Abu but winters (November-January) will require a warm jacket
or sweater
How to Reach Mount Abu
By Road :: Mount Abu is well connected by buses, some buses take
you directly to the Mount Abu & some terminate at Abu Road. There are
daily express & deluxe buses to Jaipur, Ajmer, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Ahmedabad,
Jaisalmer & Delhi. Best way to get there is to pick a luxury cab from
Udaipur.
By Rail :: Abu Road is on the broad-gauge line between Mumbai
& Delhi, so here are so many express trains from Abu Road station.
The Ahmedabad Mail departs from Abu Road at 1:05 PM & reaches Ahmedabad
at 5:25 PM, the same train leaves to Jaipur at 2:20 PM & arrives at
11:25 & Delhi at 5:20 AM.
The Tawi Express departs for Jodhpur at 3:25 PM & take five hours.
By Air :: Nearest airport is Dabok Airport, Udaipur i.e. 210 kms.
